The follwing are the conditions and results of the fourth race of the Poai Puni Series season held on the island of O`ahu in Hawai`i. The course was from Makai Pier (Makapuu) to Hawaii Kai, a distance of (8) miles. Conditions were sunny, eighty five degrees, with 10-15 mile an hour easterly trade winds with choppy short seas and a three-to four-foot southerly swell. Over two hundred total racers participated with divisions for men and women in open as well as age groups, for both one person canoes and surf skis. The top five finishers are automaticlly put into the open divisions and everyone else falls into age groups. (Results are from the Honolulu Star Bulletin dated Monday 2-3-97.)
