These canoes will be used only during the Bankoh Molokai Hoe and Bankoh Na Wahine O Ke Kai long distance races. The following criteria shall be considered in awarding the use of these canoes each year:

• The crew shall not have used these canoes within the last three years.

• The crew shall be of a stable nature demonstrating an established coaching program, support personnel, and belong to a canoe racing association if one is established in their geographic area.

• The crew shall have participated in either the Bankoh Molokai Hoe or the Bankoh Na Wahine O Ke Kai previously or demonstrated an ability to participate in future races.

• The crew shall have demonstrated competence in the safe and proper use of such equipment.

• Particular consideration shall be given to the reason why the crew feels it should be awarded the use of one of these canoes.

The decision of the Bankoh Moloka`i Hoe and Bankoh Na Wahine O Ke Kai race committees in this matter shall be final.
