TripleCrown Donates Ford Ranger
to Hawaiian LifeGuards Association
Ceremony at Waimea Bay Beach Park (wed 23Nov)


North Shore, Oahu, HAWAI`I ­ (Tuesday, November 23, 1999) - - In a special ceremony at Waimea Bay, on Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at 10:30am, the Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing will present a fully equipped 2000 edition Ford Ranger truck to the North Shore district of the Hawaii Lifeguard Association . The vehicle is being donated to the Hawaii Lifeguard Association to maintain the world class standard of surf rescue that Hawai`i is known for.

In addition to the official handing over of the keys to the Ford Ranger truck, there will be a special presentation of Honor & Valor awards to members of the lifeguard division who will be recognized for going above and beyond the normal call of duty.

In attendance will be Councilwoman Rene Mansho, Mayoral Department representatives and the departmental head of the City & County Lifeguard Division of the Emergency Services Dept who will present the awards.

The next stop on the 1999 Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing series will be the Rip Curl Cup and Quiksilver Roxy Pro, at Sunset Beach, with a waiting period of November 26 through December 8. The final event of the Triple Crown is the Mountain Dew Gerry Lopez Pipe Masters, at the Banzai Pipeline, December 9 through 21.
