WHAT: The $433,000 Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing
The 2000 Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing is the worldıs foremost
multi-event surf series and features the worldıs best surfers in the
worldıs best waves. The record $433,000 competition determines the
prestigious Triple Crown and ASP world champions.
The Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing culminates with the Mountain
Dew Gerry Lopez Pipe Masters, Americaıs longest running professional
surfing contest, held at Banzai Pipeline, which celebrates its 30th
anniversary in 2000.
WHEN: Monday, October 30 through Thurs., December 21, 2000.
Holding periods, usually 13 days long, are scheduled for each individual
menıs and womenıs competition. Surfing may or may not take place on a
daily basis, depending upon wave conditions.
MEN'S EVENTS
- G-Shock Hawaiian Pro
- A menıs $80,000, 5-star World Qualifying Series (WQS) competition plus a
32-man $25,000 Longboard Invitational event. This is the first menıs event
in the Vans G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing.

- Rip Curl Cup World Cup of Surfing
- A $100,000, 6-star WQS. This is the 25th annual World Cup of Surfing and
the final WQS event of the 2000 Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour.

- Location: Sunset Beach, North Shore, Oahu.
- Defending Champ: Zane Harrison (Australia)
- First Place: $10,000
- Mountain Dew Gerry Lopez Pipe Masters
- The $168,100 menıs final 2000 World Championship Tour contest. This 30th
annual event is the longest running professional surfing competition in the
United States and will determine the Triple Crown Champion and ASP menıs
world championship title.
