HALEIWA MAIN STREET
G-SHOCK
TRIPLE CROWN OF SURFING
HOST FREE CONCERT

North Shore, Hawai`i (November 1, 1997) -- Haleiwa Main Street and organizers of the G-SHOCK Triple Crown of Surfing and the OP Pro Surfing Championships have teamed up to offer a mini-festival on Saturday, November 15th at Haleiwa's Ali'i Beach Park.

The festival includes a FREE concert at the park to celebrate the first weekend of the OP Pro Surfing Championships, the first jewel in the Triple Crown of Surfing, which officially starts Wednesday, November 12.

Featured music will include world-mix sound by TOTO & RASHAN, plus contemporary Hawaiian by JUSTIN & PACIFIC BLU, LOCAL JAMM and special guests HAPA. Hapa will be releasing their new CD this week: "Surf Madness," which features a unique departure from the norm and extends Hapa's musical reach. Of course, Hapa will be playing all their usual favorites as well.

The concert kicks off at noon, with Justin and Pacific Blu, followed by Local Jamm at 1 pm. At 2 pm DJ Shannon Scott from KCCN FM's "Short & Sweet" show will be conducting a grand prize drawing for the "Surf with Surge" promotion. Entries are available now at any Texaco station. Toto & Rashan will play at 2:15 pm with Hapa on stage from 3:15 to 4 pm.

Adding to the festival atmosphere, SkyDive Hawaii will be making a series of jumps throughout the afternoon, with landings on the beach in front of the contest stage.

Plenty of free parking is available in the park, located on the Kaena Point side of Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor. Just follow the signs to designated parking areas.

Haleiwa Main Street merchants will feature a variety of activities in town, throughout the day and evening, including side-walk sales, Hula Halau demonstrations and additional music in the Haleiwa Market Place. Both new and antique cars will also be on display.

Plan to spend the day enjoying world class surfing and strolling through the many unique shops of Haleiwa.

Both the Triple Crown of Surfing and Haleiwa Main Street merchants welcome you to the country. For additional details, watch the North Shore News special local edition next week.
